Yes. Repositionable adhesives require specific conditions for optimal results. If the mounting environment does not meet these requirements, then the repositionable adhesive option is NOT RECOMMENDED, and is likely to lose its adhesiveness and fall off the wall.
Freshly Painted Walls: Repositionable Adhesives SHOULD NOT BE MOUNTED to freshly painted walls. Wait for a minimum of 14 days to allow paint to cure and for the paint fumes to be properly released prior to mounting repositionable adhesive.
Fluctuating Temperature: Repositionable adhesives SHOULD NOT BE MOUNTED in environments that have air conditioning that does not remain constant. If air conditioning system is turned off for an extended period of time, the repositionable adhesive may become detached and fall off the wall. Do not apply repositionable adhesives to surfaces that do not have temperatures remaining at 78 degrees or lower.
Please see our How to Mount Teachers' Gold Mine Banners video for mounting the banner.
There are many options for mounting banners.
Whiteboard and other magnetic surfaces: Banners can be mounted on a whiteboard using 3 magnetic clips across the top. This is ideal and highly recommended for easy repositioning.
Walls: Wide painter's tape or masking tape can be used. Wide painter's tape is recommended to avoid damaging the banner and the wall surface.
Window Blinds: Wide painter's tape is recommended for mounting banners to window blinds to avoid damaging the banner and the blinds.
Wood: Wide painter's tape or masking tape can be used to mount banners on wooden surfaces. Wide painter's tape is recommended to avoid damaging the banner and the wood surface.
Bulletin Boards: A staple gun can be used to mount banners to bulletin boards.
Please see our How to Mount Teachers' Gold Mine Repositionable Adhesives video for mounting the repositionable adhesive.
Washable markers can be used to write on banners without lamination. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not use dry erase markers or permanent markers. If you would like to use dry erase markers on your product, please select the dry erase lamination finish when selecting product material.

No. The repositionable adhesives will not damage painted walls. Do not apply to walls where the paint has been recently painted (less than 2 weeks). Do not apply to walls where the paint is cracked, peeling, or flaky. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of dust and debris prior to mounting on your wall.
For best results the repositionable adhesives must be used in climate-controlled environments with constant cool temperatures with minimal humidity. Using repositionable adhesive where temperatures fluctuate can compromise the adhesiveness. In climate-controlled environments, repositionable adhesives can adhere to all flat, clean, dry, vertical surfaces including painted walls, glass, whiteboards, and windows, and can be removed within a year of application. Do not apply to surfaces that are damp, dirty, dusty, or have been painted within the past 2 weeks. Ensure surface is clean prior to mounting.
It is recommended not to reposition repositionable adhesives for optimal results. There is no set number of times that a repositionable can be used. Our repositionable adhesives remain adhesive as long as they are kept free from debris such as dust and oils. Any debris that touches the adhesive surface will cause the adhesive to be less effective. Skin oils from touching the adhesive surface also cause the adhesive to be less effective. Limit the number of times the repositionable adhesive is moved, and do not allow dust and fingerprints on the adhesive surface for best results.
Dry erase markers are only recommended for use on our products that have the Dry Erase lamination finish. Do not use dry erase markers on any TGM product unless they have been dry erase laminated.
For TGM banners and repositonable adhesives, a damp cloth, or soap and water can be used to clean these products.
Do not put any cleaning products on the adhesive side of the repositionable adhesive.
If the TGM product has a dry erase lamination finish, it can be cleaned with a dry erase eraser, white board cleaner, hand sanitizer and a cloth, or soap and water.
We highly recommend keeping the original product packaging and the repositionable securing tape to store the TGM products safely at the end of each school year to keep them in pristine condition. Prints should be rolled with the print showing on the outside, in order for the material to maintain optimal condition.
